The LPGA Tour rolls into its third straight week of competition just outside of Boston for the second playing of the FM Championship. While the Tour stop may be new, it has quickly attracted the best in the women’s game, as 35 of the top 40 in the Rolex Rankings are slated to tee it up this week at TPC Boston in Norton, Mass. The tournament features not only a stellar venue but a massive purse of $4.1 million, which is the largest on Tour outside of the majors and the CME Group Tour Championship. Let’s take a deeper dive into what you need to know about this week’s FM Championship.

TPC Boston

The name of this week’s tournament venue is an attention grabber, as TPC Boston was a longtime host of the PGA Tour. Located southwest of downtown Boston, the Arnold Palmer design opened in 2002 and was renovated by Gil Hanse and Brad Faxon in 2007. The facility was the longtime home of the Deutsche Bank Championship and also hosted the Northern Trust Championship in 2020, which saw Scottie Scheffler card a 59 that year. For this week’s FM Championship, the course will play to a par 72 at a yardage of 6,533 yards.

The Field

With the Olympics a part of the summer schedule in 2024, several of the world’s top-ranked players weren’t able to make the trip to Massachusetts for the inaugural FM Championship. That’s certainly not the case this season, as a strong field is poised to tee it up at TPC Boston, many of whom will be seeing the course for the very first time. World No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul competed here last year, and it should come as no surprise that the young Thai was a factor then just as she is week-to-week on the LPGA Tour now, as she came away in a tie for fourth. Thitikul added to her 2025 top-10 tally last week at the CPKC Women’s Open, as the 22-year-old tied for seventh at Mississaugua Country Club.

Brooke Henderson, who became the champion of the CPKC Women’s Open in her native Canada, returned to the winner’s circle for the first time in two years with her win on Sunday. Henderson will make her tournament debut this week at the FM Championship along with Minjee Lee, who finished runner-up to the now 14-time LPGA Tour winner last week.

Nelly Korda will also get her first look at TPC Boston this week as she continues to work towards picking up her first win of the season. Korda finished T10 last week in Canada. Lottie Woad will be making her tournament debut at the FM Championship, where she will hope to bounce back from a missed cut at the CPKC Women’s Open after a stellar run that saw her win twice worldwide and rack up two more top-10 results in major championships.

Lexi Thompson and Brittany Lincicome, who are both retired from full-time professional golf, will also be teeing it up at TPC Boston. Thompson missed the cut last week at the CPKC Women’s Open but will look to build on her tie for 15th at last year’s FM Championship. Lincicome missed playing the weekend last year at TPC Boston, and this week, she will be making her sixth start of the season.

Massachusetts Connections

Megan Khang has spent weeks preparing for what she knows will be a big week for her at the FM Championship. Khang is not just an FM Ambassador, but was born and raised in the Boston area and is seen as an unofficial host of sorts for this week’s Tour stop. Khang grew up in Rockland, Mass., and made sure to get in a practice round at TPC Boston ahead of this week’s tournament. Khang was tied for seventh last week in Canada and will be hoping to improve upon her tie for 35th at last year’s FM Championship.

Alexa Pano, who is sponsored by the New England Patriots, grew up in Westborough, Mass., and although she missed the cut last year at the FM Championship, she is excited to be back competing in her home state. Pano finished in a tie for 15th on Sunday at the CPKC Women’s Open.

Brittany Altomare missed all of the 2024 LPGA Tour season while she was away from the Tour on maternity leave, so she didn’t get a chance to compete in the inaugural FM Championship. The Shrewsbury, Mass. native and LPGA Mom is teeing it up this week, where she’ll be searching for her first top-10 finish of the season.

Haeran Ryu defends

Two of the world’s top-ranked players, Haeran Ryu and Jin Young Ko, pushed the tournament into extra holes in the first edition of the FM Championship, which led to a thrilling finish at TPC Boston. Tied at 15-under after the final round, the Korean duo returned to the par five 18th for a playoff. Ryu came away with a par on the first extra hole to defeat the former Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings No.1 and secure her second career win on the LPGA Tour after what was an impressive week that saw her card rounds of 69-62-78-64. Ryu returns to TPC Boston already a winner in 2025 after collecting her third career victory at the Black Desert Championship presented by Great Zion and also picking up two more top 10s on the season. Ryu was tied for 45th last week at the CPKC Women’s Open.

Amelie Zalsman received an invitation to compete in this week’s FM Championship, thanks to her standout performance this year in the junior ranks. Zalsman won the Rolex Girls Junior Championship, has four more top 10s this season and is committed to playing collegiate golf for Wake Forest University. Megha Ganne, winner of the 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur, also received a sponsor exemption to compete this week at TPC Boston.
